CREATE A GENERAL JOURNAL
Note: General Journal entries have no effect on the budgeted amount.
- Click the “General Journal” tab.
- Enter the account numbers, description, and amounts of the entry.
- Click “POST” at the bottom of the screen.
** For all General Journal Entries dated 01/01 – check the “Year Starting Entry or Audit Adj.” check box. This should be checked whenever making audit adjustment entries. **
Save time by importing the entry from Excel!
- Click “Upload Excel” in the bottom left corner.
- Click “Browse” to search for, then select, the Excel File. If there is a specific sheet used in the Excel File for this entry, choose the sheet from the drop-down.
- Change the Column Header line as needed (not usual).
- (Optional) Check off Ignore hidden Rows and Columns.
- Click “Load”- this will display a preview of what will be imported.
- (Optional) Select “Skip lines with invalid Account Numbers”
- Click “Import” – example below.
The entry is not complete yet.
- Enter a Description.
- (Optional) Enter a Ref #.
- Verify the imported information is accurate.
- Click “POST” when complete.
